Tamil FISH CURRY
Tamil fish curry recipe is made in a variety of ways. Our family's version of fish curry has two flavors, red and green. The red fish curry recipe is spicy and hot. The green or white korma is milder and different. Fish curry goes well with white rice, idli, dosa, iddyappam, aappam and bread. Since fish is one of our favorites, we make it at least twice a week.

STEP BY STEP METHOD

Marinate fish with chilli powder, turmeric powder and ½ tsp salt for an hour |

Grind one onion, tomatoes, cumin powder, chilli powder and coriander powder |

Heat oil in sauce pan and
add mustard seeds

Once it starts popping, add chopped onion and garlic and almost blacken it(do not burn). Reduce heat to low |

Add the ground mixture from step 2, turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups water. Let it boil well for 5-7 minutes |

Add fish and let it boil in low heat until cooked for approximately 5 minutes. Do not over cook at anytime |

Sprinkle cilantro for look and flavor and serve hot |
